Turkey Blind vs. No Blind

Double Bull Matrix 360There is a controversy about whether or not to use a blind when you are turkey hunting. Today we are going to look at both sides.

There are a lot of good things about turkey hunting with a blind. Probably one of the biggest things is that a blind will conceal your movement. It will give you the ability to move around a little more than you could if you were sitting by a tree. It also helps you to blend in with your surroundings. By getting the right pattern of camo, the turkeys will not even see your blind. I would recommend to use Realtree Hardwoods. I LOVE that camo pattern. There are a few different Hardwood patterns, but really any of them would work. They are very nice in rainy or windy weather. By using a blind, you can get away with not dressing in all camo. Simply wearing a brown or black will get you by just fine.

If you are going to use a blind, I would recommend using the Double Bull Matrix 360. With this blind, you 360 Degrees of Visioncan have 360 degrees of vision. This was the first blind to get this feature, and it has the heaviest duty material also. Blinds are going to go through a lot. Rain, wind, snow, travel, etc… and you want to make sure that you have a very sturdy blind.

Ok, now lets look at the pros of not using a blind for turkey hunting. Even though there are blinds that give you 360 degrees of vision, people still say that it does not give as much vision as you would have sitting outside. Well yes, that is true. Nothing is going to get in the way of your vision if there isn’t anything around you to do so. Others do not use blinds because they say that there is too much added noise when setting them up in the morning. When you get out to the timber and you are trying to be as quiet as possible, putting up a blind can cause extra noise, and possibly can scare your birds away. If you do not have the blind secured properly to the ground, if it is windy, the blind could cause extra noise. One of the biggest reasons that people do not use blinds is that fact that they have to carry them out to their hunting place, and depending on the size of the blind, they can get heavy.

The choice is up to you. Good luck hunters!!!
